Bread Sauce
INGREDIENTS
Loaf of Bread
Milk 2 Pints
1 large Onion
2 Bay leaves
150ml Double Cream
5 Cloves
Nutmeg
INSTRUCTIONS
Pour 2 pints of Milk in a sauce pan and place on a low heat.
Add 2 Bay leaves and 5 Cloves to the Milk.
Take the Onion and chop it in half, remove the skin and pop the Onion halves in the Milk.
Very gently simmer the milk for around 7-10 minutes.
While the Milk infuses take the Bread and remove all of the filling discarding the crust.
After 10 minutes remove the Bay leaves, Onion and Cloves from the Milk and start adding the Bread.
Add small handfuls of Bread while stirring until the sauce is nice and thick.
Grate in around a quarter of a Nutmeg.
Finish with about 150ml of double Cream.
Stir through the Cream and serve.
